GRAY TELEVISION LICENSEE, INC., LICENSEE OF WSAW-TV, WAUSAU, WISCONSIN, AND PERMITTEE OF WSAW-DT ON CHANNEL 40, HEREBY RESPECTFULLY REQUESTS EXTENSION OF SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY ('STA') TO CONTINUE TO OPERATE WSAW-DT PURSUANT TO BDSTA-20030827ARD, ISSUED SEPTEMBER 25, 2003, WHICH HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL APRIL 14, 2006. AS NOTED ITS LETTER OF SEPTEMBER 22, 2003, WSAW-DT BEGAN DTV OVER-THE-AIR BROADCASTING PURSUANT TO THE STA ON SEPTEMBER 22, PURSUANT TO AN EMERGENCY STA ISSUED IN LATE AUGUST 2003. WSAW-TV IS IN DMA MARKET #134 AND HAS ELECTED TO OPERATE ON ITS ANALOG CHANNEL 7 AT THE END OF THE DTV TRANSITION.

WSAW-DT HOLDS A MODIFIED CONSTRUCTION PERMIT ON CHANNEL 40 FOR FACILITES THAT WILL MEET WSAW-DT'S 'USE-IT-OR-LOSE-IT' BUILD-OUT REQUIREMENTS (BMPCDT-20051103AAF). ACCORDINGLY, WSAW-DT SEEKS EXTENSION OF ITS CURRENT STA UNTIL JULY 1, 2006, OR UNTIL IT HAS COMMENCED PROGRAM TESTS PURSUANT TO THE ABOVE-REFERENCED MODIFIED DTV CONSTRUCTION PERMIT, WHICHEVER IS SOONER.
