100-Day Countdown - Last Quarter

All stations participating in Option Two must air a minimum of one "Countdown To DTV" per day during certain periods.  Due to the delay in the DTV deadline, the revision of the countdown rules, and differing analog termination dates, not every station was required to air the "Countdown To DTV" the same number of times during the first quarter of 2009.  Below, list the actual number of days on which your station aired any eligible "Countdown to DTV," and, in the Comments field, briefly explain how this number of days was calculated.

WTVJ HAS CREATED A SPECIAL SECTION OF OUR WEBSITE (NBC6.NET) DEDICATED TO EDUCATING USERS ABOUT THE DIGITAL TRANSITION. IT IS BRANDED, "GET THE PICTURE" AND THE DIRECT URL IS WWW.NBC6.NET/DIGITAL.

THE PAGE OUTLINES WHAT THE TRANSITION MEANS TO VIEWERS AND IT EXPLAINS WHY THE SWITCH IS TAKING PLACE. IT ALSO HAS A SERIES OF VIEWER QUESTIONS DIVIDED INTO KEY SECTIONS: EQUIPMENT, PROGRAMMING AND SERVICES. USERS WILL ALSO FIND LINKS TO GETTING EVEN MORE INFORMATION REGARDING THE TRANSITION. WHILE THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE, WE ALSO HAVE LINKS TO THE CONVERTER COUPONS.

IN 2008, WE ADDED INFORMATION ON OUR TRANSITION TO HD AT THE STATION. WE GAVE USERS A LOOK AT OUR NEW HD CONTROL ROOM AND THE HD EQUIPMENT ONBOARD OUR NEWS CHOPPER.

THE STATION IS COMMITTED TO ENSURING THAT NO VIEWER IS LEFT BEHIND AND THERE IS A ROBUST INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE TO EMPOWER THE SOUTH FLORIDA COMMUNITY WITH INFORMATION THEY NEED.
