During the 1st quarter of 2012, WGME aired in excess of 1,000 public service announcements. Topics included but were not limited were Adopt A Pet, Play Outdoors, Father Involvement, Don't Text and Drive, etc. The following family community events were promoted during 1st quarter as well: Mary's Walk/Maine Cancer Society and Chocolate Lover's Fling/Maine Sexual Assault Prevention Center.
