This series focuses on the development of three teens who are uniquely different from one another yet forge deep bonds of friendship through their shared interests and problems. As these three navigate their way through high school, they will deal with all the important issues of adolescence, modeling their problem-solving and desicion-making for the teen audience. The overarching goal of this series is to take the viewer from one level of knowledge to a more informed or higher level of knowledge within each episode. This is achieved through the storylines, where one or more of the three main characters will demonstrate active problem-solving and decision-making related to a specific topic. Each week, embedded in an evolving, continuous process of friendship and values clarification, a character will deal with a specific challenge. See public file for public service announcements designed specifically for children. To supplement and enhance the educational value of the network's "Teen NBC" programs, NBC has a web site (www.nbc.com/tnbc) specifically designed to teens. The goals of the site are first, to create a platform for the teen community where opportunities for self-expressions become the core of the interactive experience; second to build these communities whereever possible around the themes of ideas generated within the TNBC shows themselves; and third, to provide online resources of information and guidance around the issues that most effect teens' lives. WSMV aired a core educational program in each time slot between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. each Saturday of the quarter. On Saturday, January 19, the core program "Inside Stuff" which regulary airs at 11:30 AM every Saturday morning was moved to 8:30 AM on this date due to network (NBC) sports coverage of NBA basketball airing at 11:30 AM. On Saturday, February 9, several core programs were pre-empted due to an hour long special of "NBA Inside Stuff" which aired at 10:00 AM on WSMV. The regular 30 minute program of "NBA Inside Stuff" was not fed on this date by Network. The network feed on this date included: 7:30-8:00 AM "Just Deal," 8:00-8:30AM "City Guys(B)," 8:30-9:00AM "Skate" (which WSMV does not carry in a core time slot), 9:00-9:30AM "City Guys(A)," 9:30-10:00AM "All About Us," 10:00-11:00AM "NBA Inside Stuff" Special 60 min. WSMV aired the following programs on this date: 8:00AM City Guys(B), 8:30AM Ch.4 High School Sports Show, 9:00AM City Guys(A), 9:30AM All About Us, 10:00-11:00AM NBA Inside Stuff All-Star Special (60 min).
