A cavalcade of stars from basketball, televison and the music industry appear at this NBA concert/party to honor kids all over the country who are Reading to Achieve. Guests include Alicia Keys, Will Smith, Carson Daly, Lil Bow Wow, Germaine Depris, P. Diddy, Brittany Spears, Dawn Stayley and Niki McCray. Each offers praise and advice to kids and stress the importance of reading in preparing for success in life. Segments of NBA players reading and talking to kids about reading are also shown. Players who read include Allen Iverson and Baron Davis. These include getting information, experiencing the enjoyment of a good story, getting involved with favorite characters and filling the day with something different to do. Audience members for the concert part of the special members were chosen to participate because of their performance and participation in their school's reading programs.
