Wimbledon tennis the first weekend in July, and Notre Dame Football on September 7th as well as entire weekend of Ryder Cup Golf competition on September 28th & 29th forced pre-emptions of programming. On Saturday July 13 from 10-12Noon WPTV produced a local telethon to benefit a pet shelter. The telethon featured inspirational stories as well as animals to be adopted.
