Description of Program
Famed Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin returns to NBC with a new one-hour special. It's up to Irwin to use his skill and knowledge to battle the elements and the uncooperative crocs. Prior to and at beginning of 2002-2003 school year, station airs public service announcements, reminding students of safety tips to keep in mind when traveling to and from school. Station news talent is featured on announcements. To supplement and enhance the educational value of the network's"Teen NBC" programs, NBC has a "The More You Know" website (www.nbc.com/tmyk)which features scripts from the award-winning public service announcements, referral information for the organizations referenced in the PSAS, a general campaign overview and educational materials prodcued in connection with NBC programming. The site also includes a list of the campaign's most recent accolades. Station airs NBC'S on-air component "More You Know" PSA'S consisting of topics such as diversity, teen violence, judging, prejudice and read to achieve.
