KVEA 52 also participated or sponsored the following: July 13, KVEA anchors Azucena Gomez and Adrian Garcia-Marquez participated in the Youth Opportunity Movement Celebrity basketball game dedicated to promoting educational and recreational activities for Los Angeles Youth. July 6 and August 31, KVEA sponosored to "reading" days at the Los Angeles Zoo. Children were able to enjoy classic story telling while KVEA anchors Antonio Mineros, Carolina Davalos and Azalea Iniguez promoted literacy to children and their parents. September 12- 15, KVEA sponsored the largest Mexican Independance Day Celebration in Southern California, attracting over 150,000 people. In addition to the musical performances, Telemundo dedicated an entire area to childrens arts and crafts and a stage for local children to present their talents.
