WGME 13's GIVING MAINE PROMISE campaign focuses primarily on giving children the assets they need to grow into productive adults. This on-going campaign provides resources to parents and families to help point children in the right direction. These resources take the form of PSAs, news stories, mentor matchup telethons and partnerships with various community groups.
THURSDAY'S CHILD -Twice monthly, WGME News 13 shares the stories of THURSDAY'S CHILD - children waiting to be adopted. Each child is profiled in a public service announcement that is televised in the weeks following the news story, helping children in need find loving homes.
BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS - Twice monthly, WGME 13 profiles a child who is looking to be adopted or is looking for a big brother or big sister. Thanks to our reports, several children have been or are in the process of being adopted.
