		KPTV produces and airs on-going PSA's that help to enhance the educational and informational needs of children. During this quarter the station aired over 300 children's public service announcements. During this quarter KPTV continued to focus on three educational and informational project for youth: KPTV supported the March of Dimes Reading Champions program. The station produced and is airing a 30-second PSA featuring local elementary school students encouraging other schools to get involved in the readathon. Students read as much as they can, earn medals like the Olympic athletes and collect pledges for the March of Dimes Healthy Baby campaign. KPTV also supported the Young Audiences Run for the Arts. This jogathon is the largest fundraiser for Arts Education in Oregon. This year the program generated over $700,000 with schools facing major cutbacks this year the program is more critical than ever. KPTV produced and aired a 30-second PSA encouraging kids to get involved and for adults to support the program. Get Fit for Life is our on-going public service campaign health and wellness campaign. The numbers are shocking...64% of adults in the U.S. are either overweight or obese. 10 million children are overweight! More children have Type II diabetes than ever before due to obesity. Our mission to get children and families moving! We produced and air a series of fun and informational PSA's that deliver this important message.
