Kuzco wonders whether being Emperor for the rest of his days will be a pleasure or a trap. In many episodes Kuzco must thwart attempts by the nefarious Yzma and her demwitted henchman, Kronk, to stop him from doing well in school. If Kuzco fails at his academic requirements Yzma stands a chance to become Empress. Kuzco, who is by nature inclined to take the easy way out of tough situations, struggles to complete his assignments and stay on track. Only if he remains steadfast, studies hard, learns from his mistakes, graduates, and can relate to his citizens at all levels of society, will he ascend the throne and become Emperor. 		St. Joseph's Baby Corner Managers of St. Joseph's Baby Corner came to work to discover a thief in the night entered and stole an estimated $6,000 worth of badly needed diapers, blankets and other items for low-income infants and toddlers. KOMO 4 teamed up with sister radio station STAR 101.5 to replenish the shelves. Within 24 hours $8,500 was raised by STAR 101.5 Morning Team Kent and Allen with KOMO 4 News Problem Solver Reporter Elisa Jaffe. Mariners Kids Appreciation Day KOMO 4 co-sponsored the Seattle Mariners Kids Appreciation Day at the end of the major league Baseball season on October 1. Kids were treated to free giveaways and a fine ball game. Pumpkin Prowl at Woodland Park Zoo Along with For Kids' Sake Sake sponsor Bartell Drugs, on October 27-29 KOMO 4 co-sponsored a safe and fun way to go "trick-or-treating" at Woodland Park Zoo. The zoo estimated 5,000 pairs of little feet per day took advantage of the event. Season of Giving Food and Toy Drive On November 15 - December 1, KOMO 4 produced the 19th Annual Season of Giving Food and Toy Drive raising an estimated million meals and 3,000 toys. A series of severe storms reduced this year's giving by a significant amount. Nevertheless, beneficiaries Food Lifeline and the Atlantic Street Center were grateful for the donations. The Magic Season This was the first year KOMO 4 co-sponsored the winter holiday event in Bellevue, WA called "The Magic Season." Located on the main street in downtown Bellevue, the event featured 60 high school students drumming (dressed as nutcrackers), a snowfall at 7pm nightly, and ice skating. It's an easy and fun way to get in the holiday spirit. The event was November 28 - January 1. The Miracle Season - Children's Hospital $142,000 was pledged during this year's one-hour Miracle Season mini-telethon on December 3. The money goes to Children's Hospital's uncompensated care fund, which ensures that no child is turned away from medical care regardless to her/his ability to pay. For Kids' Sake Special "Sparking Innovation in Education - Volume 2 This 30 minute special aired Saturday, December 9, 7:30-8:00pm. Hosted by Elisa Jaffe and Mike Dardis of KOMO 4 News, the program looked into what's being done to educate children in non-traditional ways.
