CAKE (E/I, 8-12, TVY 7) is a live-action show-within-a-show about a teenaged girl named Cake. Cake, based on a concept created by Barbara Miller and Maia Terzian, hosts a cable access show, "Cake TV," with the help of her three best friends, Miracle, Amy and Benjamin. The show is produced out of Cake's grandmother's old Airstream trailer and co-hosted by the three girls who show their audience (and each other) how to take ordinary, everyday items (t-shirts, cd cases, lamp shades) and make them extraordinary with a little imagination (and a glue gun!). Benjamin serves as the show's producer, cameraman, soundman and gofer. Cake's motto: "You can't buy individuality, but you can make it!"

The Commission should note that on May 5, 2005, Jack Hanna was pre-empted due to WISH-TV's live converage of the Indianapolis 500 Festival's Mini-Marathon. Jack Hanna ran in it's second home that same day from Noon until 12:30 p.m.
The Commission should also note that on April 28th, CBS pre-empted Trollz, Cake, and Dance Fever for a one-time-only block of Horseland shows. Trollz, Cake and Dance Fever were not made good, but the pre-emptions did not affect our weekly three hour Children's Programming time block.
Finally, the Commission should note that on our digital channel 9, LWS, that on April 3, 2007, breaking weather emergencies forced the pre-emptions of our Tuesday morning Children's line-up. All shows were made good on April 5, 2007, in their respective time slots.
WISH-TV continues to support it's analog and digital children's programming with efforts like our stations tours for children's groups and involvement of our weather team with schools and young people.
