Channel Study to Assist LPTV/Translator Stations in Advance of Special Displacement Window
In advance of the Special Displacement Window for LPTV/translator stations, we have created this website to provide the detailed maps and data files (collectively, "Channel Study") which show the channels and locations that are potentially unavailable to LPTV/translator stations to propose displacement facilities.
We emphasize that the Channel Study is based on assumptions detailed in the Appendix to the Special Displacement Public Notice. Eligible displaced LPTV/translator stations must also conduct their own interference analysis using TVStudy prior to submitting displacement applications during the Special Displacement Window.
Posted below are four interactive maps in Tableau. The Tableau files can be opened using Tableau Reader which is available for free on the Tableau Website.
-
Protected Points by Channel - Granted
Description: Showing which locations and channels that are potentially unavailable for LPTV/translator stations when considering only granted Construction Permits or licensed stations. -
Protected Points by Channel - Pending and Granted
Description: Showing which locations and channels that are potentially unavailable for LPTV/translator stations when considering pending Construction Permits, granted Construction Permits or licensed stations. -
Potentially Displaced LPTV Stations Map - Granted
Description: Showing the LPTV/translator stations that remain in the TV Band which may be displaced as result of interference when considering only granted Construction Permits or licensed stations. -
Potentially Displaced LPTV Stations Map - Pending and Granted
Description: Showing the LPTV/translator stations that remain in the TV Band which may be displaced as result of interference when considering pending Construction Permits, granted Construction Permits or licensed stations.
In addition, we have also posted below three zip files as part of this Channel Study. These zip files contain the data that underlie the results shown the Tableau files. The data dictionaries for each of these CSV files can be found in the Appendix.
-
Granted Applications Study
Description: Contains the three CSV files unique to the granted applications study. -
Pending and Granted Applications Study
Description: Contains the three CSV files unique to the pending and granted applications study. -
Common Data
Description: Contains the two CSV files common to both studies.
Finally, we have posted in a zip file the TVStudy scenarios associated with this Channel Study.
-
TVStudy Scenarios
Description:Contains the three TVStudy XML scenarios used to generate the interference-free population and pairwise interference data used for each of these studies.
